Christina Aguilera’s Rendition of the National Anthem of U.S. of A.
.
Censorship of Christina Aguilera’s screw up while singing the National Anthem of the United States of America by Sony et al…does anyone have her on their DVR still trying to sing the national anthem?
From Super Bowl to the Minors, how quickly does a diva fall?
Christina Aguilera has been invited to sing on June 18, the US National Anthem at the Brooklyn Cyclones’ Municipal Credit Union stadium (MCU Park) on Opening Day. Yet to have accepted their kind offer to sing the Star Spangled Banner, Ms. Aguilera, a native of New York City, should consider accepting a copy of the lyrics, from the Cyclones, as they do with anyone who sings the anthem.
Also, trying to entice the diva to do a do-over are The Syracuse Crunch, a minor league ice hockey team. The Crunch want her to sing before its Feb. 19 game at the Onondaga County War Memorial against the Rochester Americans.
Ms.Aguilera, has apologized for her “horrendous” Super Bowl performance, saying that she hoped “everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”
The only thing that came through was her piercing screaming which might have been enjoyable had I been as drunk and deaf as those attending the Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium. If she does accept the offers to sing at these sporting events I certainly hope the owners of these teams ask her to sing the US National Anthem without any ad libs and embellishments. Just sing the damn anthem correctly Christina et al.

Christina Aguilera’s rendition of the National Anthem
was horrendous. Why are singers allowed to sing the Star Spangled Banner this way. It should be respected and sung as written by Francis Scott Key, to the tune of a popular British drinking song. Since her singing was so awful, I didn’t stay in the den while her screaming voice boomed through the surround speakers. I also didn’t notice she had repeated the second line of the first stanza with a twist. What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming, became…What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming, instead of what she should have sung which was…O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? The fans at Cowboys Stadium who were perhaps happy Christina Aguilera had finished her rendition applauded and cheered her off the stage quickly. In case you haven’t heard her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner I will warn you not to click on the link. It is torture to hear her screams.

O! say can you see by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
