Israel’s Citizenship Laws: Are They Archaic?

Dating to 1952, when Israel was just four, its founders(?) passed a statute defining the gateways to Israeli citizenship. Birth in Israel, immigration under the Law of Return, residence and naturalization.

Naturalization includes marriage to an Israeli citizen.The Holy Land

However there are limits to the right of gaining Israeli citizenship  if you are a Palestinian. The Supreme Court of Israel ruled that Palestinians will not be able to acquire Israeli citizenship through marriage.

Without citizenship, Palestinian spouses, and sometimes their children, are rendered illegal.
